Common questions
If your situation is not covered here, call or text with the lock type, vehicle details, and location.
What services do you offer?
Atomic Lock & Key is a local, mobile locksmith serving Kennewick, Richland, Pasco, and surrounding Tri-Cities areas. Services include car key replacement, key fob and smart-key programming, vehicle lockouts, residential rekeying and lockouts, light commercial locksmith work, mailbox locks, and dealer or fleet key services.
Do you offer mobile locksmith service?
Yes. Atomic is fully mobile and comes to your home, work, roadside location, dealership lot, rental property, mailbox, or business location where service is available.
Are you a local locksmith or a call center?
Atomic is local and based in Kennewick. When you call or text, you reach Nate, the locksmith doing the work, not an outsourced call center or national dispatch listing.
Can you make a car key if I lost my only one?
In many cases, yes. Feasibility depends on vehicle year, make, model, VIN, key type, and security system. Atomic verifies compatibility before starting work and explains options clearly.
Do you program key fobs and smart keys?
Yes for many supported vehicles. Atomic works with remote head keys, push-to-start smart keys, proximity fobs, and OEM-compatible options. Some newer vehicles require OEM-level authorization and proof of ownership.
How quickly can you respond?
Response depends on location, time of day, current route, parts, and call volume. Atomic prioritizes realistic arrival times and honest communication rather than making unverified response-time promises.
How much does locksmith service cost?
Automotive lockouts start at $60, residential or rental openings start at $85, commercial openings start at $95, and mailbox lock replacement starts at $70 in Kennewick, Richland, and Pasco. Vehicle keys, rekeying, repairs, OEM work, complex jobs, and outer-area calls are quoted before service.
Do you work on newer vehicles?
Within reason. Some modern vehicles require OEM-level software, manufacturer authorization, or dealer-only access. If a job cannot be safely or legally completed in the field, Atomic will explain why and help identify the next step.
What vehicles are not supported?
Most Mercedes, BMW, and VW vehicles are not supported at this time. Compatibility is checked before quoting key replacement or programming work.
What do I need for OEM or secure vehicle programming?
Secure vehicle programming may require proof of ownership and requester identification, such as title, registration, bill of sale, auction invoice, dealer inventory record, driver license, dealer employee ID, or signed authorization.
